Off to Hong Kong


I don’t like to travel when it rains. But it is. Hard. With thunderstorms.

We are at NAIA’s Mabuhay Lounge, waiting for our flight to HKG. Our plane doesn’t leave until 2:20PM, which means we still have some 30 minutes to read magazines, eat carbs and surf the Internet. The Mabuhay Lounge is a convenient place for people like us who need to do last-minute emails [as if we couldn't do it abroad] to associates [read: wedding planner and writers] and family members. Black is beautiful

We finally decided on our color motif which is black with streaks of cranberry red and gold. Some couturiers find it daring and different especially here in the Philippines where most people are still conservative and superstitious. Some even equate black with death but that’s so passe already since most people now wear white at the funeral.

Wedding Concept

So we have decided to have a theme wedding and since we are both fans of vintage and old rock n roll, we thought it would be nice to have a vintage Hollywood wedding. So I immediately collated our favorite songs and brainstormed on the concept. From the start, we already told each other that we wanted to have a memorable and different wedding.

Our inspirations for our wedding are: The Beatles, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Jackie O, Grace Kelly, The Rolling Stones and old Oscar’s. I don’t know how we can pull it off but knowing our wedding coordinators have extensive experience in theatre, I’m excited about that they have in mind!
