Nature’s Orchestra

For more than fifteen minutes this morning Daniel and I shared a moment with nature’s orchestra.  We lay on our back in his bed.  Our eyes were aligned.  His twenty inch body fit comfortably on the bed while I had to plant my feet squarely on the ground just to keep myself from falling.

Through the antique window sill made of reclaimed mahogany wood and capiz shells the chickens crowed boisterously, one after another. On numerous occasions, more than a dozen chickens sang in harmony, each with its own distinct melody. The leaves and the branches danced to the gentle breeze. Together, they produced their own sound. Not to be outdone, the clouds moved silently in the background thus proving an ever changing backdrop. Inside the room the oscillating fan chimed in on its way from east to west and back again. With every gurgle and coo of the conductor, the orchestra played proudly and beautifully. It was a beautiful moment. And, you are invited to their next performance.
