Sleepless in Makati; Relocating to Iloilo

We’ve been lacking rest since the arrival of Daniel despite having my mom and my mom-in-law come over for a couple of weeks. Our condo is in disarray because we barely have time to keep everything in order, since the day I fired our helper. In fact, my husband and I could barely spend quality time together other than staying at Shangri La on Valentine’s Day (thanks for the nice surprise, Sweetheart!). Other than that, we’re just tired parents to a seven week old boy.

So we devised a way to make parenthood a more relaxing responsibility for both of us. We decided to relocate to Iloilo this March so we can have family members at our beck and call. That way, we can get back on our feet and focus on what we do. Traveling on the side won’t hurt either as long as we are assured that Daniel is in good hands.

I expect the rest of this month to be more hectic. If we were lost balls in high weeds in the last few weeks, we kinda figured out everything now. My way of dealing with all this hurly-burly is my acquisition of a crisp and girly planner and a diary from Michelle Simone. Spontaneity didn’t work well for me these days so I will try the OC route this time.

And so we are excited to finally pack our belongings and relocate to our new humble abode– a Spanish house adorned with everything antique, an ornate door and a 12-seater dining table. The house is nestled in a guarded and exclusive 5,000 sq meters property, its area festooned with green grass, shady trees and some salvaged items from the Spanish era. This would be a culture shock for us since we are used to seeing busy streets and people here in Makati. I say, it’s refreshing to be in a quiet environment. It’s like being exiled in paradise :-)

Anyway, there’s really nothing much to miss in Manila except our Church. Besides, if we really miss Manila for some reasons, it’s just a 45-minutes plane ride from Iloilo. For now, being near our relatives is our priority. So that’s all for now. I better get some sleep before I fall asleep on the table. And I need to remind myself that tomorrow is my birthday.
