I already start hearing Christmas songs at restaurants and malls these past few days. Soon, Christmas lights will be at every corner of the street and in every house. Christmas may be the best time of the year for kids but for parents, it only means one thing: holes in our pockets.

When I was younger, I used to buy cheap gifts for my friends and brothers for Christmas. I always think that it’s not really the gift that matters but it’s the thought that counts. I know it’s a cliche but it’s true. Now that it will be that time of the year again, it is inevitable that we will all be rushing to malls to buy presents for our friends and loved ones. But instead of worrying if we have enough budget for gifts, one alternative is to create homemade and personalized ones. They are not only unique but are budget-friendly unlike those commercialized and expensive items found in popular malls. It will also make the recipient feel more special knowing that you took time to create it.
