Daddy and Daniel

329580baby-s-hand-grasping-father-s-finger-posters.jpgI’m so glad that I’m not going through this pregnancy all by myself. I owe everything to my husband, Amarind, who always goes an extra mile to makes sure I am getting the best care that I deserve. Now that I’m on my seventh month of pregnancy, my mobility is getting limited. Since we don’t have a maid, we share household chores but lately, he does most of them. I still cook and do the dishes though but I’m afraid I’m getting more inactive and dependable on my husband because baby is growing heavier each day.

After months of thinking what our baby’s name would be, we finally came up with what we both like. We will call our baby boy, Daniel. This may appear peculiar but we actually both decided on the name after watching the movie, Saving Private Ryan. One of the brothers’ name there is Daniel Ryan and we thought, there’s a ring to it. Daniel also means “God is my Judge,” which is very approapriate since we always wanted a Christian name for our baby. Now, we call him Daniel instead of just “baby.” Daniel also responds to us by tossing and turning in my belly whenever we say, “Hi, Daniel” or when we simply call him “Daniel.”

My husband talks, caresses and kisses Daniel everyday especially in the morning. He talks to him as if he were there and pretends he was a grown up. Daniel seems to know when we talk to him because he responds with kicks. I guess he can already recognize familiar sounds like my voice and his Daddy’s voice. As I’m fast approaching my due date, which is on December 24, I feel that the bond between the three of us gets stronger each day. This happy baby not only gives us enormous joy, he also makes us realize how wonderful our marriage is and how generous God can be with all the blessings he gave us.

We have so many great plans for Daniel. We want him to grow up a happy, loving and respectful kid. We want him to be favored by God that’s why as early as now, I always pray for him and declare that he would be a leader and be successful in whatever he wants to be. My husband and I attends a small group in our Church every Wednesday so we get a lot of support and prayers for our baby and our marriage. We also pray for other couples in our group.

As for me, I am a happy and content woman. Sometimes I don’t realize how lucky I am to have married my husband, until someone makes a remark about it. Sometimes, there are people who openly tell us that they want to be in our place or want to have the closeness that we have. For us, everything just comes naturally. We know that it’s our responsibility to love and care for each other.

Once in our lives we meet that one perfect person who mirrors everything about us and complements us in every way. I found mine last year and the moment we laid eyes on each other, we knew we were the Yin and the Yang that complete each other. Since then we became inseparable, ended up as husband and wife and now having Daniel.

Everyday, my husband and I take the time to thank God for being together amid impossibilities and for experiencing what a blissful marriage is all about.
